Restaurant Mark
Our crown jewel of an interior project started out as a tiny seed of an idea that was planted and then blossoming into Restaurant Mark. In Danish the word “Mark” meaning field is tied to the sublime high quality produce served in local cuisine manner and in a neighbouring space to the office of the Danish Agriculture Association.
Our client wanted to showcase the best of Danish produce in elegant settings that still felt down to earth and welcoming. The requirements were that the space should be flexible for events and still have a regular function as a restaurant and bar.
The ground floor consists of a restaurant, a separate bar, private dining room, event space suitable for conferences. The warm toned basement boasts of own wine cellar and generously large restrooms. We have focused on honest and classic materials that have been essential in achieving this Nordic bistro ambience and modern dining style. We scoured the industry to find the correct contrast, weight and composition in the finishes and fittings that encompass quartsite, oak, leather, terrazzo, Swedish Øland tiles, steel and brick.
Needless to say, all furniture was carefully chosen to reflect the desired cosy yet industrial modern vibe that is the perfect counter balance. We prioritised using beautiful locally produced and handcrafted elements such as dried flower installations, handprinted curtains and handwoven lampshades. However, the real eye catcher is the crescent shaped main bar in the restaurant. Constructed of rounded stained slats fashioned in organic patterns it mimics the passing seasons in the Danish fields paying homage to our agriculture history.
In short a must see and experience.
